Our first day of roadtrip is at its end and our love for the Scottish countryside is even greater then before. We started our trip at 7am by picking up the car and checking so everything was ok and then we headed off to St Andrews with Rikard as the driver.
St Andrews was such acute town and reminded of Lund back home. We went to see the ruins of the castle and went to the abbey which was just amazing! Afterwards we went to the the beach and enjoyed the sun (and wind?)
Our next stop was Dunnottar Castle near stonehaven and this was the coolest castle I have ever seen. It was located on a cliff which was so steep that you never would dare to be near the edge. Its so old and the weather was definitely on our side since the rain had been pouring down just minutes before we got to the parking but as we arrived the sun was shining and made the scenary spectacular.
Afterwards we made a quick stop in Aberdeen for some grocery shopping before we continued for our final destination Ballater where our hostel was located. The hostel is great and we are in them middle of Cairngorm's National Park. Tomorrow we will explore the area even more!
Hugs and Kisses
