Our last stop in mainland europe was at a campsite we had stayed at before in a previous trip to france. This was in preference to staying in Calais for the night. We drove from Belgium and across Northern France encoutering the first major traffic jam in the whole journey. A quick look at the maps and a reprograming of the tomtom and we headed across some small narrow country lanes to avoid the traffic. A quick stop in a roadside layby for lunch and we soon arrive at the town where the campsite was.
As we knew the area we went to a wine shop that was near the campsite and stocked on some supplies before heading over to the campsite. A number of bottles of wine later and we pulled in to the campsite to spend the night.
It was a sunny day but the evening brought one of the largest thunderstorms we have yet encountered so we went to sleep with the noise of rain, wind and large hailstorms crashing in to the roof
