We had another great day today. We started our day in Beaver, Utah at about 0730 and then after fueling and washing the vehicles. Then it was off to the wild blue yonder. It seems like it is always blowing and cold... but that is soon to change. We spent the day in the desert and the mountains. We went from Beaver Utah to Nevada to California and finally into Arizona.
We went through the pass of the Virgin River. It was over 11 miles long. A windy path through the rocky cliffs with the River below. A fantastic trip.
Then back into the desert. Got to Nevada for a fuel stop. Of course, some of the guys had to play the slots at the gas station. Then it was on to Las Vegas. For some of us it was the first time. So, Las Vegas........ well we filled up with more fuel and then went to Denny's for lunch. We honestly have no more Vegas stories... but what goes on the road stays on the road.
Then back on the road in the desert. Mobile homes in the desert...lots of them.....Casinos everywhere. Into California and then into Arizona for a stop at Dairy Queen. Arrived at Lake Havasu City at about 5:00 at the Quality Inn. Lots of time for some refreshments to get rid of the road dust before walking to the London Bridge was transported from London to Havasu and reconstructed. Took pictures and then out for supper at a micro breweryl.
Update on the missing ambulance. They left Lethbridge and travelled all night, only to break down in Utah. They got repaired again and are back on the road. We hope to see them soon. They are certainly the troopers of this trip.
Tomorrow is Nogales Arizona for our last night in USA before the border.
Adios, Murray
