We started the morning at 0630 for reville and then breakfast at 700 with a departure of 0730.
Generally today was a driving day. We had a wide variety of roads and road conditions. We went through Monida Pass and the roads got progressively worse as we neared the pass. Then the pass was fogged in an the downhill side was slow going until we got out of the cloud.
The weather cleared up by Idaho Falls with just flurries along the way.
An unknown firefighter driving the fire truck missed a shift going through Mida Pass and needed a tough recovery to keep going.
Hit Salt Lake City and the roads are undergoing construction. It was really the first time that we had any major traffic, but we all got through. Four to five lanes for over an hour is not good for us hicks.
Stopped a couple times for fuel. The fire truck needs to stop every 200 km to fill up with the jerry cans. We are getting good at the Mario Andretti pit crew.
Arrived in Beaver Utah. But we were missing Bob and Vic and the Edson Bus. Had to send out a search party and they arrived smiling. Got checked into the hotel and had a Rotary meeting in the hallway to solve the worlds problems and even some of ours. Got across the street to the restaurant since everybody was starved. Kind of our first real meal in two days. Bad NEWS- No Booze. But a great supper. Got our plans layed out for tomorrow.
Our second ambulance has left Lethbridge at 6:00 pm today. They are hitting the road hard and driving all night and the next day. They got through customs within an hour and would like to be in Salt Lake City tomorrow morning and then figure out how to meet up with us.
Tomorrow we are bound for Lake Habaseau in Arizona. We plan to arrive early in the afternoon for a chill out day and see the London Bridge.
Thanks to everybody for the messages on the message board- it is greatly appreciated.
