After Catching the ferry to Magnetic island we checked in at Base Backpackers, possibly the best located hostel in Australia. 3 steps from the beach and with dorms overhanging the rocks you couldnt ask for much more!! after chilling out by the pool and gettin some dinner it was off to the hostel bar for a few drinks, both of us are pretty shattered so an early night was in order! We got to airlie beach after a long 11 hour journey! checked in and went for a meal with the bus and bus driver! airlie is a smallish town not much to do but its the place where you get the boats to sail to the Whitsundays. Today we travelled inland from Hervey Bay to a small family run cattle station in the middle of nowhere to a place called Kroombit. After what seemed like a never ending road, we arrvived. We arrived here and checked into Fraser Roving Hostel! we meet up with friends and went to our briefing where we meet up with the people where were going to be driving with. The next day we got back into our groups of 8 loaded our jeeps and took of to catch the ferry for Fraser Island. This was one of the best things we did!
