We are staying in a hotel that is set out in separate bungalows, set around a tropical garden.
Woken this morning at 7 by the neighbours, who happen to be japanese, doing noisy tai chi. Jackie was startled by the noise, as it was still dark with the experssion "what the f*****g hell is that noise", she flew out of the room, ready to punch him, bang goes international relations.
Went for breakfast, which was a success for a change and got ready for our day trip to see the 15 Moai statues. What an awesome sight. Then went to the quarry where the Moai statues were carved and saw them in various stages.
Had a packed lunch which was hot and was chicken with mushroom and rice - very nice.
Then went to the beach, the sand was creamy white, not like Brid and the water was turquios and varying shades of blue - very tranquil. Our friends from the airport were also on the trip and the man decided he was going to dive into the sea, like you see in the movies, however I think someone forgot to tell him that the seas wasn't very deep and he smacked his mouth on the bottom. we did not laugh - MUCH and pretended to be really concerned but when we found out that he had chipped his tooth we had to hide our laughter.
We decided to retreat so that they didn't see us laugh to the cafe on the beach and ordered 2 coffees, these we had to make ourselves by using a flask of hot water.
Whilst writing this we are sat on the veranda and have just had a tropical downpour which lasted all of 5 minutes, now the sun is back out and we are burning.
Went to the typical Rapa Nui (Polynesian) night and it was very interesting, men in g strings girating their bits, but we looked away somebody else took the pictures for us - NOT. Oh by the way there was some female dancers as well, who to be truthful could really dance.
Got back to the hotel to find a black dog sat on our chair on the veranda and no electricity in the room, everywhere else was lit up light Blackpool illuminations, so it was just us.
Having to go to bed with a glass of water as all the local bars close at latest 10pm.
