i cant believe its over a week ago since i wrote thatlast blog ! the time is just flying by - ive been here over a month already ! last weekend then most of the girls went down to anjuna or palolem for the weekend so it was only me eppa & suzie left in the house. so strange being with so many girls everyday for 3 weeks & then it suddenly being so quiet & having so much space ! it was suzies last day so we went out for a meal saturday evening, was amazing at the time as we went to a beach shack and had dinner right next to the ocean, unfortunately though the curry didnt settle too well with my stomach. i ended up having the most painfull toilet experience of my life ! haha & i was ill in bed for 2 days, not the most comfortable thing in this heat ! but i survived :]

the week got better from then on as me & suzie went up to panjim, the capital of goa, and even the bus ride was an adventure ! people were crammed in like 4 people to one seat & this woman would not move for us to sit next to her so we had to climb over her to sit down ! so funny. when we got to our stop she still wouldnt get up to let us off & she had her bag on her lap so we couldnt climb over, she just ignored us ! so the bus carried on moving & like the whole bus was shouting for the driver to stop because they could see us trying to get off, anyway we managed to climb over her & her bag eventually but we were about 5 minutes from the bus stop when the driver stopped. Panjim has the most amazing fruit and veg market ever, the women just sit in the middle of the fruit & veg surrounded by piles of it & they throw it to you so if you catch it you feel obliged to buy it ! ill try & put some pictures up soooon. my watch broke the other day so i bought a new one there, he tried to sell me for 7.50 ! rip off ! but i got him down to 1.30, i am a pro at bartering now, just wobble your head a lot and they make it lower !

friday we decided to clean out the classroom at the school because it was getting a bit dirty. this basically involved moving everything out onto to street & chucking a bucket of soapy water over the floor. we then all had to go in the room barefoot & clean it with our feet, which obviously turned into a mass water fight ! the kids absolutely loved it. we were just about finished when this drunk man came to the school and just started shouting in hindi at us and made some of the children cry. because it was only me & olivia (she is the project coordinator & is only 19) we had to shut the school incase anything happened as he kept coming back & walking into the classroom throwing bottles etc. so that was such a shame but olivia said that it happens quite a lot & there is nothing we can do about it because the police will do nothing, but from now on we will have a man come with us to sit in the lessons incase anything like that happens again.

saturday all the volenteers who had only come for a month went ! so there is only me polly jess & nora left in the house, was really sad saying goodbye but we are still all keeping in contact & will hopefully see each other when we get home ! the house seems really empty but its so nice having lots of space ! we had a massive tidy up aswell as we hadnt cleaned the house in a month ! so much sand ! when man-sing came round to take the rubbish he found some firecrackers ontop of our fridge, he asked if he could light them, we thought they would just be little popper things, but as soon as he lit them he ran into the other room ! they were like massive firework type things ! was so mental ! polly had to jump up on the sofa because they were shooting everywhere, so funny !

last night there was a new icecream shop opening in town so we went at about 10pm & it was like a little party, they were giving out free samosas- still warm ! and little sweets. the ice cream was so good & like 30p for a pot ! they also had all chairs & candles set up at the front of the shop with music playing & all the locals were there with their children so we sat there for ages. best ice cream party ever !

heard it was snowing in england ! so jealous ! the air is getting so sticky here we are probably going to get a massive storm anyday so something to look forward to !

will definately try to put more pictures up soon because i have loaaaads !
