Hello. Everyone wondering what it is yet? S'pose not - its only bin one day, but OK. Well I'll tell you now. We found (drum roll please - dum dum dum didda dum dum dum) It is Spot V Stripe! Its a giant competition all over the world - well actually only the UK, and it was run by Cadbury. Cadbury wanted to help everyone to play more games like everyone used to, all to promote the Olympics next year in London. There were heaps of fun awesome games, and FREE CHOCOLATE!
We found Spot V Stripe in George Square in the middle of Glasgow. We played four games - Giant Eyeball, Shoe Golf, Ball to the Head, and Slide Dunk. The first gae we played was Giant EyeBall, and this was where 10 people got to stand in a circle, each on a squishy cube of foam rubber. The Giant Eyeball was hanging on a rope from a big crane, and the idea was you pushed it at people on the other team, and they got to push it back. If you fell off or were pushed off your cube thing you were out, and the last team standing wins. Mum got pushed off her cube first go - she wasn't very good at this game! Next we played Ball to the Head, a game where you have a special fuzzy hat and balls covered in Velcro. One person from each team versus each other, and you have to throw 3 balls. When your opponent throws a ball into the air, you objective is to catch the ball with your head. The one with the most balls on their hat wins, and they also get to look pretty funny. I got to look the funniest because I always won! And I also looked the funniest because of my hair.
Next game was Shoe Golf, where you have to flick your shoe off your foot and get it to touch the flag in the middle of a bulls eye target. My first try - HOLE IN ONE!
After that there was the game Slide and Dunk. Mum was too scared to go on this, so she said she'd watch Steina and me. I think she didn't do it because she knew I'd Win!! Me and Steina lined up, and when it was my turn it turned out I couldnt do it because I wasn't old enough. I was tall enough, but not old enough by a couple of months! So Steina was the only one who got a go. Lucky thing. She had to get into a sack, slide down this steep slide carrying a ball, then toss the ball through a hoop once she had landed. Unfortunately Steina lost her ball when she bounce landed, but she had a go at the hoop with her opponents ball.
Spots V Stripes wasnt over yet - there were still many more games but not at that site. Finger walking baton pass looks fun. There was also a woopi cushion race that looked fun. Mum reckons we could make some of these games easily for us to do at school. Not the giant eyeball game though, unless someone has a big crane lying around at home?? Another game we could probably do but would take a wee bit of organising (it sounds really cool) - I know what you are thinking - he's just trying to stall us now. Binocular Soccer. You have a helmet with binoculars attached, and you have to try and play soccer - sounds fun, eh. Well, in the end we have many many memories about Spot V Stripe. Can't wait to come home and tell everyone more about my first week.
The final score of the day in Glasgow - each team had over 1000 points and that was just in Glasgow. One team had over 1600 points, and that team had 1763 points. That team was …..
STRIPES!
Lastly that day (or so we thought) was meeting up with Mum's friends Cian (you say that as Key-An) and Ann and their new baby Niamh (you say that just like Mrs Neave) for tea. We decided we would have tea and a place called The Butterfly and The Pig. I was on the sign that they had a Butterfly and Pig burger - Hmmm, isnt that strange. I got to try traditional fish and chips with mushy peas. I do not recommend mushy peas for anyone who comes here - ever. I also got to try the Scottish drink Iron Brew. Iron Brew is alright - tastes a bit like fanta. It has more sugar than fanta, in fact it has more sugar than a lot of things, but it doesn't taste as good as fanta.
Home to bed at the hostel, for a good night's sleep before moving on to Tom's house near Edinburgh. We had a great sleep, until someone tried to put out a fire in their room by using their spray deodorant. Yeah, right, smart plan buddy!!! Up at 1 oclock in the morning, shoes and jacket on quickly. We only grabbed our money and passports, and the room key and evacuated. Surprisingly, most people were dressed when they got down there. I think most people took the elevator, because lots of people were there before us. Three fire engines turned up, but apart from the firemen having a quick look, none were needed. We spotted one dude up on his balcony - most likely he caused the fire alarm. Probably he was on is balcony because there was too much smoke in his room.
Talk to you soon - goodbye every one. Peace out.
