Day Eight Vicenza, Italy-What a freaking hot night!Outside our non air conditioned room, people in the street banged and clanged starting at 0400 hours. We learned from the Hotel staff that the Vicenza Market was being held today, an open air street market where locals sell everything from candy and produce to clothes and memorabilia.A house cup of coffee later, we set out to find breakfast. We stopped at a local bakery and purchased chocolate croissants and a cream puff type thing for a few Euros. It was at this time while standing in line next to locals at the bakery that I recognized that I stunk!I had showered every day, sometimes twice a day when given the opportunity. But for some reason the nasty scent of BO secondary to the heat, humidity and constant drinking could not be overcome by deodorant alone. So, I stopped at a local drug store and purchased a bottle of CHEAP Italian cologne. I paid 9 Euros for something called Backstage that improved my smell dramatically! In hind sight I should have spent the extra Euros and purchased the Armani cologne which was also relatively cheap at this store, when compared with the duty free stores. We toured an old Roman Theatre that is still used for plays. This place rocked, it was all cut from Marble and the original marble statues lined the theatre. We toured some more old churches, shopped in the market (Tim bought the world's most expensive gummy worms and I bought a soccer banner for the game room), we then checked out of the hotel and headed for the train station on our way to Padua.
