We had to set the alarm for 07:45 to get the boat to Railey today, Sarah woke up all excited and jumped out of bed to pack her bag, we trundled down to the sea, bags in tow and purchased the ticket for the longtail boat to take us Railey. We got called to our boat and again waded out to the sea and climbed the ladder. This boat was smaller than the one the day before and we got wet getting on, it was only a 15 minute journey though and because the boat was so small I got told to move further over to port side because we were leaning too far over to starboard. Must be putting on weight. We arrived on the wrong beach, we were going to get off and luckily the bloke told us they were going back to the beach we needed. We remained seated. When we got round to the beach we needed Sarah was first to get off, it took the old girl about ten minutes to get off whilst everyone was waiting 'I can't do it with my bag' 'go on you daft sod' she got off eventually, I felt I had to make up for her slowness and jumped over the edge. Didn't get too wet though. We walked for ten minutes and reached our accommodation which was called 'Viewpoint Hotel and Resort' it was nice (but expensive for us) our room was ready, we took a glimpse of the pool. As with all Thai pools it was nice but nowhere near enough sun loungers, I am talking about eight loungers for about 400 rooms. We chucked our bags down and went straight for the pool and jumped in. After about 20 minutes it clouded over and we decided to take a walk, we explored the local area and wanted to go to the view point and the lagoon. We followed the signs and it seemed to be leading up a cliff with a rope attached to it. We were in flip flops and decided to do it. We got a footing, grabbed the rope and started out, it wasn't a sheer face cliff wall but was near enough. We got to the top and about 15 sweaty minutes later there was a gentle walk to the view point, the view was good - straight over the sea where we had just walked and over our resort. A German man told us that the lagoon was beautiful but very difficult to get to and advised us not to do it in flip flops, we took his advice on board and ignored it. We headed for it and there was a mammoth task ahead of us as we reached the edge to the descent down to the lagoon, the first part was o.k and as long as you held onto the rope it was quite easy, there was then two absolute sheer face cliffs some with overhang that we had to climb down, Sarah hung onto the rope and I opted for the manual approach of spiderman climbing as I didn't trust the ropes. We passed a few people that had just given up because it was to difficult. We made it bare foot as our flip flops were sliding all over the place. The lagoon was beautiful and had shiny blue water, unfortunately it didn't look good to swim in as there was loads of fallen leaves to wade through to get into the deep water. We took a few pictures and headed back up to the cliff - an excellent time for Sarah to announce she felt faint, we had no water or food and were a good hour away from the start with a few forty feet sheer cliffs to climb. To be fair she has fine legs... climbers legs and scooted up the cliffs faster than me. When we got to the end we advised a few people at the start how excellent it was but how difficult. I took off my t-shirt - it was drenched like I had been in the lagoon but just with sweat. I whacked Sarah's arm with the sweaty shirt which she found very cute... ha ha, not really she thought it was rank, she had a sweat tash so she couldn't talk. We headed to the beach a few hundred yards away for water and food. We got two corn on the cobs and a bottle of water which went down a treat. We then chilled out around the pool for a very short time as it started to rain, we grabbed a pot-noodle then went to the room and didn't do anything for a few hours. We then headed out for a bite to eat we made it as far as our hotel bar which looked nice and quite busy, we ordered french fries and some cheesy bread and a couple of beers - after this we went bed bound and watched 'Jaw's the Revenge' which as crap as it is made me think shall I go in the sea tomorrow? It was 12:50 when we turned the light off and was well ready for sleep.
