Well I thought it was time for q quick update as it's been a while!
The first week of guests went fine which was great, no real problems to contend with and we had a good group of guests which helped! Christmas seemed to pass by smoothly although when you're in the mountains Christmas day doesn't seem too different from all of the others!!
As for this week - Sunday morning was beautiful as I woke up and saw the sunny blue skies and had an awesome day guiding some of the guests around the mountain in the morning and then skiing on my own for most of the afternoon.....was a long day 9 till half 4 skiing which was amazing!! As for Monday, I started off with a trip to the doctors, Ross the chalet host managed to get a face full of steam from the pressure cooker (not nice!) but fortunately he's fine and I know see him with a face full of cream! Although it was pretty snowy which made conditions tricky, I then spent the rest of the afternoon on the mountain with Cat, another rep from Crystal ski, and managed to end up on my ass/face several times in the deep snow!! It was a pretty eventful day as we helped a gentleman and his daughter down the mountain at the end of the day as they were lost and exhausted...I also had a call from a distraught guest with a missing child (fortunetely the boy turned up!) and since then, I've had a few more trips to the doctors, one with ligament damage in his knee (no longer able to ski), and this evening a guest with tonsilitus!!
Anyway, the first few days of the week skiing have been awesome, the last couple I haven't really managed to get out (reasons above), and went out for a "quiet" one last night.....I think the fact that when I got to the bar, I had a pint, toffee vodka shot and jaegar bomb lined up meant the end result of my night was going to be inevitable!! The walk home was interesting as I stumbled back with Pete (nicknamed the MOUTH...he talks a lot of b******s), Jack (nicknamed Jill...obvious reasons, him and Jill went up a hill etc etc) and Steph (working on a nickname for her). all of them the chalet hosts where I'm living with!
So I'm sat here in le petit danois bar typing away after devouring a pizza and a pint to wash it down with (hair of the dog after last night). Plans tomorrow are to get on the mountain in the morning with guests and do a spot of guiding and then I'm sure we'll have a cheeky drink or two for new years' after the torchlight descent and fireworks in the evening.
That's it for now, hope I don't have any more ill/injured people as the paperwork is BORING!!! Hope all had a good chrsitmas back home and enjoy new years'.
