Hello cool kids!!
Well, I hope you had a good new years eve, I spent it in one of the bars in La Rosiere, it was a green theme so managed to find some green bin bags and stapled some green tea onto them and fashioned a schmock (not sure of the spelling!) - job done! Was a good evening...lots of booze consumed and slept it all off the next day....oops!
Before that I managed to have a little ski over to Italy - the conditions over there were amazing so enjoyed bombing a red run. I went up another lift and skied part way down a run and stopped for a few minutes (leg burn!!) and next thing I knew, I was wiped out by an avalanche!!! A skier came down off piste and triggered the fall which took me by surprise...unfortuntely I lost a ski in the process as it was buried deep in the powder. Had the Italian police and piste security over who wanted to know what happened as they had their sniffer dog and transievers etc out in case of any casualties. Luckily it was just myself and a chap called Hugh I was skiing with that got caught - they got the piste basher out to try to find my ski but no joy...427 Euros is what the hire shop want to charge me.....aaarrrgghhhh!!
Anyway, I managed to ski back (just about) on one ski, only a couple of falls but have since acquired another pair from the shop. That's my exciting news for now - I went out on the mountain from open until close today as the conditions were amazing!!!
Hope you're all well back in the real world - will catch up soon!

phil hey mate, i'm so glad your having a quality time................but also immensely envious! You're lucky you didn't break a leg sounds like, when that skiier crashed into you. Wish i could have seen the New Years Eves costume! Keep posting the updates - they're a good read! All the best, OMP
meeeee it's smock....but i guess as you probably looked a bit of a schmuck (which is the yiddish word for penis) it's a fitting spelling. you're the only person i know thats been in a real life avalanche!!! how exciting! hope you've recovered from the shock!(i mean from the price of the ski...i'm sure you're as cool as cucumber in natural disaster-type situations!) We missed you at christmas! hope you've had a christmassy time over the last couple of weeks...how could you not with so much snow! Anyway, much love as always xxxxxxxx Laura ps.did my parcel arrive?

Andy When did you learn English? What's with all the words and punctuation - you know I speak simple.
Tim Are you actually doing any work?
Andy Define "work". It's a tough life but someone has to do the "job". I've spend every day this week guiding so far....marvellous!!
