Hey Guys,
We finally arrived on the West coast after our superb 3 weeks on the East. Our 1st stop was Las Vegas which was an amazing place to start and get us in the right mode for our 2 months along the west coast.
We flew in from JFK and arrived at our hotel the Stratosphere around midnight but could not really sleep because we were so excited about meeting Mary's sister Emma and her boyfriend Patrick the next morning at the Fabulous MGM were they were staying.
We met Emma and Patrick and even though we had only been away for 3 weeks it felt like it had been forever so it was nice to see them and catch up.The following day Mary's parents were also flying in so she was ecstatic that all the family would be back together for Las Vegas.
As our first day was a Saturday so we took the opportunity to go to a nightclub which ended up being Pure in Caesars place. Pure was gorgeous, it had all different sections and a lovely area on the roof top.It played all different music and was just full of energy, it was well worth it as Mary and Emma had not saw each other for a while and fell right back into their dancing shoes.
During the rest of our stay we done some really nice things but the highlight for us was the Beatles LOVE at the Mirage Hotel. It was a Cirque De Soleil show which was performed to the tracks on the Beatles LOVE album and just blew us away with the creativeness, it's something that will always stay with us along our trip.
We also visited the body exhibition at the Tropicana hotel were they display real live corpses were they strip off the skin, fill all the remains with a type of silicone and position them in every day stances so you can view at first hand how the body really functions and learn about the harsh effects of illness. This was an incredible experience that everybody should see at some time if they get the opportunity.
Throughout the rest of our stay we mostly chilled out by the MGM pool, walked along the Strip checking all the hotels out and having some nice food and drinks. Me and Mary being backpackers and having a large journey ahead decided it would not be wise to gamble a great deal but the money we did spend we won back with probably a small amount of interest as well so it was great fun. A story we will never forget was in the Tropicana were Me and Mary won a $100 on the roulette then Frank won about $150 on the same table so Patrick played the table and was having completely no luck but stuck to his set numbers and with his last 5 chips stuck them all on his favourite number black 11 thinking realistically he had no chance considering not one other number on the table was backed but his persistency was paid off as black 11 bounced in, the casino must of thought we had cleaned them out with the cheerbut it was just the pure excitement and disbelief it had came in, it was such a fun moment.
It was so nice to spend time with all the family, Mary's Parents and Emma and Patrick were so generous to us for the whole time they were there which we are so grateful for. We miss you loads if you read this.
In a whole Las Vegas was amazing and it's a place that you will never get bored off and we already can't wait to return in the future.
