Dear Ralph and Angela,
Sounds like you are having a great time and covering a lot of ground. We have had a cool and rainy August after a scorching July. Bank Holiday weekend. Take care and keep us updated.

I'm sure you won't find this hard to believe, but I did manage to buy a fez!!, wheather for August has been utterly rubbish, global warning, what global warning??, extremely jealous of you guys!
Speak soon, stay safe! (not talking about condoms!)

Hi Phil
Thanks for update on Karen & Graham's wedding. Trust the Tommy Cooper jokes were dusted off again! Just as well I wasn't there as Karen would have struggled to take those vows with Graham.

Hi guys
Just got your latest update, looks like your having a great time!, I'm back in the office after Karen & Graham's wedding yesterday, it was an absolutely fabulous day, Karen looked amazing, probably just as well you weren't there Ralph, because her wedding dress was not only stunning but also very clingy!!!!, the day went really well, Leslie even stayed relatively sober!!, no puch ups, and even managed to get a few laughs with my speech!, so new bride and groom are off to Cornwall for a Honeymoon tomorrow, and I am in the bloody office feeling very tired and emotional!
Hope you guys are having an amazing time, it sounds it, loved the pics of the trailer, loved to see what it looks like when fully erected! (and the tent!!)
Speak soon
Phil !!
Ralph
We are doing our best to keep the South African wine industry going!
No hatted lug drivers here Dave but some interesting drivers and vehicles. The taxis (minibuses) take no prisoners on the roads and we will be limiting our night driving to make sure we don't drop down any potholes.
Vehicle and trailer are fuller than full so it will be a slow drive north west to Golden Gate National Park this morning.
Thanks everyone
Ralph & Angela

Fantastic photos of hippos guys, makes me want to get my scratchings out! All looks very amazing- bit surprised at the size of the dikkop though Ralph, always thought it was bigger.... Will be thinking of you having your sundowners this weekend, while we are having ours at K & Gs do. Have a S.A. Chardonnay for me!
Dave
See Ralph, they've got lots of experience fixing Discoveries in South Africa, so they're good at it now. Shame about the Afrikaaner throwing a wobbly in his 4x4 though: funnily enough I could easily have imagined that scene happening with an irate Brit in his Disco. But obviously, Angela is keeping you too knackered for any of that. Got any hatted lugs over there?
Ralph
Nearly ready to go now, Landrover Discovery had a cracked engine mounting that was replaced in about a quarter of the UK turnaround time and one third the price.
Just booking the Kgalagadi Park and working out the stopover locations.
Should be on the road Monday

Hi Ralph and Angela !
Cannot believe that you have already been in SOuth Africa for 2 months - and I'm only cottoning on now !! We're a bit slow down here - what can I say. Great to hear that you have been on such exciting travels already. Ihear that the Namib and Kalahari are amazing at the moment - so enjoy.
Thought that we'd see you this year still - but looking forward to you getting down to this part of the world in the new year.
I'll give you a ring on your cell later on this evening !
Keep well and have fun. We're SERIOUSLY envious !!
Ralph
Dave, I'm relieved to realise there is a Welshman that can read. How are things in Vanuatu?
Thanks to everyone for the messages. Next trip is Namibia in a week or so, just making sure the Landrover is running well and the trailer brake works this time.

Ralph, I read that comment about Welshman in the Kruger National Park. I forwarded it immediately to the North Wales Police who are still following -up Tony Blair's comment calling my folk the f...ing Welsh!
Expect a posse of the boys in blue anytime soon.
