Hi Heike
I think we must have upset someone in a previous life!
After the fire we had major thunder and lightning, then rain for over 24 hours. The drive down the N3 to Durban was one of the worst I've ever done, a nasty road in good conditions, it was frightening!
Rocky Bay is cold and miserable, difficult to imagine this is the Indian Ocean, looks more like the Cornish coast in December!
We are heading in your general direction, probably taking in some of the Wild Coast and a bit of the Garden route we missed last time. Will give you a ring when we get nearer if we may.
Thanks
Ralph

Hi !
Well - never a dull moment in your travels !! Glad to hear that you - and your reconditioned kit - survived the fire. Looking forward to having you down here again - will definately need to consume lots of red wine to keep warm - as there is lots of snow on the mountains.
Look forward to hearing from you.
All the best
Heike

Thanks Heike for the message.
It will be great to see you and the family again and really looking forward to the whales and some seafood!

Hi !
Great to read your postcard - Angela !! Super to hear that you will be in our part of the world again soon. Remember that the guestroom is always available (with an electric blanket !!!). Whales have already started to make their appearance - so great excitement amongst the greenies. Our kids - spoilt as they are re wildlife - think its a big yawn. Whales are only exciting when they surface next to you while you are out surfing !!
Let us know when you'll be in the vicinity ! Yep - think the flowers will be amazing this year - there has certainly been more than enough rain in the region.
Chat soon.
Ciao
Heike

Hi Heike
Yep, ice here as well. May go up to the KwaZulu coast at Kosi Bay and Sodwana, St Lucia area as that is much milder.
I assume the flowers will be good this year if the rains continue?
We'll need to go to Botswana for a month before coming back in for the whales and flowers, otherwise our visa will expire before the season starts!
Regards
Ralph

Hi !
I assume that means you are not coming to Cape Town ( where we scraped frost off the windscreens this morning !) - but rather going up north ! I am so keen to join you - this cold winter is just seriously uncool (freezing cold actually!) !!
Have fun and keep in touch.
Love

Hi All
Thanks for the messages.
It is cold here in Howick, we've lost our UK in built antifreeze after a year out here!
All the ideas of where to go next have gone out the window, we are going somewhere warm!
Keep the messages coming

Hi Guys !
Thanks for the update - and glad to hear that you have survived the cold ! Looks like we're in for a cold winter this year - so much for global warming !! We've had 9 days of cold (around 14 deg. daytime) - grey and wet weather. It hasn't stopped raining. Seriously unusual - but at least the dams are nearly or already full. That is the good thing - the fact that so many people's homes have been flooded etc - is obviously the downside. Luckily were up on the hill - so no problems here !
What are your plans now ?
Hope to hear from you again soon.
All the best
Heike & family
