We are enjoying your trip and adventures and just a touch envious. The photo's of the wildlife and terrain are fab. It seems that some of the winds you have been having have come from Cornwall. As your Dad has told you it has been bitterly cold here of late but as true to form since your Dad has gone to Spain we have had an Indian summer with temperatures in the high 60s to low 70's.
We are both fine although Shirley will have an op soon on her hip. We enjoyed our holiday in Germany and would certainly like to live there, anything to get away from this lousy government. Enough of politics. Great pictures, blogs (what ever they are) We really must keep up with technology. Enjoy yourselves and wiil talk soon Take care .
Fond wishes Shirley & vic

Ralph and Angela,
Glad to hear you are not roughing it all the time. Hope you get some great safari drives. Should be a good time right before the rainy season.
How was Maun? We have only been to the airport, and never had a chance to explore the town. From the air, it does not look all that impressive.
We were in Japan last week for a quick 8 day trip. Tokyo, Kyoto, Mt. Fuji, Osaka and we ended up in Toba, Santa Barbara's sister city. Quite an adventure, what with the language challenges and being part of a group tour. Now we have a free day in Santa Barbara, before back to work. Reminds us of the time we came back early from the Rockies with you. Maybe we'll go kayaking!
Take care of yourselves,
Jim and Linda

Hi Jeff & Simon
Thanks for feedback. If you guys can tell me what a Facebook is, I'd appreciate it. I'm still getting used to blogs rather than Postcards! If Facebooks include a mugshot then please don't start them up, you guys at Heston are an ugly bunch!
Talking of which, have you got any hair left Simon or is it the Bruce Willis look now? How's Gary doing now Chelsea are falling apart?
Hope you all survive the KPMG review, please give my regards to the primordial slime if they slide through the door (met them in the NHS, nice bunch, just count your rings if you shake hands with any of them)

Hi Heike
Sorry about the rain in Knysna, if it's any consolation it is cloudy here in Maun, they are expecting the first rain since March. We are hoping it won't rain, the roads will be fun if it turns to mud here!
Hope Clint has recovered from the Karoo to coast, he's mad!
That letter was a complete mystery, in all it cost us around £50 in fees and postage not to get our international driving permits renewed. The Botswana police have stopped us twice since, they seem very happy with a UK licence and a passport so we needn't have bothered. Sorry for all the hassle it gave you. Hopefully the UK Post Office will cough up £30 compensation, or maybe not!
Have deleted and re-uploaded the Moremi Part Two photos, they didn't alll load yesterday. Hope you enjoy them

Hi Andrew
Thanks for comments. Hope you had a better summer in France than they had in the UK

Hi Ralph & Angela,
Great blogs. Amazing photos. You are seeing some incredible animals. I am jealous to say the least.
Heike
Hi ! wow - what amazing experiences. Your trip really sounds amazing. We were in Knysna over the weekend - nothing but rain - but at least good Margaritas and Oysters ! Clint did the Karoo to Coast - Price Alfred PAss - 100kms - from Uniondale to Knysna. He did much better than last year - so really happy. Otherwise weather is getting better here - sunny skies and warming up. What are your plans - where are you heading to now ? Whales are still in abundance - and flowers awesome ! Sorry - could not locate your letter anywhere. As per the SA Post office - it never arrived in SA - and according to British Post - it definitely left England. Seriously frustrating !!
Well - hope to see you again soon. Am going to take the time this evening to drool over all your photos. I am just SO envious.
Andrew
.hi Anglia &Antony your blog gets better and better sound like your having a whale of a time hope all is well.from your brother Andrew x

Hi Heike
Thanks for update. Florian is learning to read so it may take him time to comment re Geoff and Ute!
Had great time in Moremi, managed to avoid lions but had major run in with baboons, they bust the rooftop tent. Got some awesome photos and unforgettable experiences, loved every minute of it!
Busy uploading photos and blogs but connection here in Maun a bit slow. Hope the weather is better in Somerset West, too hot here!
Take care
Ralph & Angela

Hi Isaac & Liesel
Not sure if you will be able to read this until you get to a better internet connection but many many thanks for letting us join you for a magical trip in to Moremi, Savuti, Linyanti and Chobe.
We had a fantastic time and really appreciated you sharing your booking with us. Thanks for all the food and alcohol, I'm sorry that Angela drank all your beers and dented the gin supplies!
Sorry you had to help dig us out, and thanks for the loan of the big spade, it makes all the difference.
Hope all is well on the farm, speak to you soon.
Kind regards
Ralph & Angela
Heike (Somerset West)
Dear Ralph & Angela & dear Florian (unbekannterweise !)
Hope that you are having an awesome trip through Botswana - without becoming the chewing toy of some rather large cat. The trip just sounds amazing - and looks like nature is coming rather close. Back from Germany this morning - 05h00 flight - and straight into the office. Sucker for punishment as ever !!
Florian - we don't know Geoff and Ute from Cambridge - not that I know of anyway !! Have friends just outside Saffron Walden - that is about as close to Cambridge as I get.
