Had a bit of drama yesterday. Steve and I had to take Norma to A&E at Sora Hospital, great way to learn how to use the GPS and see if the Italian map works, we had to ask a few directions along the way but finally got there in pretty good time. Waited 7 hrs while she had tests & investigations, then they wanted to admit her. We decided it would be better if we headed to Recanati as we had planned due to all the medico's in the family they could assist us.
We all headed off Friday morning for the trip to Recanati, me in charge of the navigation and Steve a little anxious about driving in Italy I think? who wouldn't be! We had a good trip, once on the autostrada it is a fairly straight forward trip and we made it in good time. So we have all bunked into Rita and Gino's arpartment, once again Me, Liam and Norma sharing a room, thankfully she is feeling okay today. We saw the cousin that is a GP and suggested repeat tests on Monday.
Sept 10th - got to the Recanati markets, much bigger than Arpino, but mostly all the same stuff made in China, and quality not the best, but I still managed to find a nice pair of Italian made leather sandles (yes I almost have enough now). In the evening we went walking in Porto Recanati, it was lovely, much more lively than Recanati with many people out walking along the beach, and shops open, its a shame Rob wasn't with us, I think he would have enjoyed it. Things looked expensive and geared towards tourists. Liam loved the pebbled beach and Uncle Steve showed how to skim stones on the water. I got some nice evening photos of the beach front apartments and the town clock. It is still really hot and humid, I'm not looking forward to coming back to the Australian summer.
