Myself Steve and Liam went down to the beach near Numana yesterday for a swim. The water was glorious, clear blue Adriatic sea and small waves, Liam had a ball jumping the waves.
Sept 12 - Today we went further into the town of Numana for a visit, it is a lovely little coastal fishing village and pretty. It still has the rustic feel to it and not too commercialized yet. But there are big buildings/arpartments being built so next time I'm back I guess it will be very different. Drove up to a huge hill lookout and could see for miles up and down the coast, but there is alot of haze on the horizan. Aparently on good clear days you can see the coast of Yugoslavia. We walked around the town and took some nice photos then found a beautiful beach for a swim. Again Liam thought it was great splashing in the water and even practicing some swimming, and putting his head under water
Sept 13 - We all set out today and travelled up the coast to a place called "Gradara" not far from Rimini. It has a medieval castle with a wall that can be walked around. It looks like the typical castle one would see in the movies with turrets, look outs and draw bridges it was fantastic. It is famous for the torture chamber. Liam loved it. On the way home we came via Pesaro and stopped for a look at the beach. Steve and Liam skipped stones across the water, every so often he had one work and he got so excited it was great to watch.
Got to the Porto Recanati Markets. The largest I have seen in my travels, the whole length of the water front had stalls along it, I didn't even get to see them all. Got myself a nice leather jacket from an outlet. It was so hot that Liam and Steve went swimming in their undies, because we forgot to take swimmers with us, Liam thought it was great, and he had fun jumping off rocks into the water.
Friday night we went to dinner/BBQ at Rosanna and Arturo's house (Robs cousin). They are a delightful couple with no children, but they adore kids, they were really great with Nic when he was there 5 years ago. They gave Liam a remote control ferrari - he was in his element.
