Some will be surprised that i have stayed clear of the tequilla since my arrival here 2 days ago but our last session has really knocked me for 6!
Our first day here we went for a wee stroll and ´bumped´into a thousand or so people demonstrating along the street, chanting and all against the new President - who they don´t want! Really quite emotional to see, we felt like crying for them.
Changed our flights again today so will now be home on Christmas Eve!! Very excited now although i was intially traumatised and took it all our on my sister who wondered what the hell was going on but blood is thicker than water...
Still spending time in NYC but it´s a shame we have to miss Iceland. So Mexico City has been a grand place to stroll around to be able to take it all in. The metro is pretty manic, warm and full of DVD, gum and nut sellers! An bargain experience none the less. Sarah even got groped by a 12yr old for free!
Stayed at Hotel Frimont (own shgower & TV) first 2 nights, which is the same price as 2 dorm beds at International hostel on the central Cathedral Sq. Now at the hostel in dorm room with a strange old french woman, atleast Sarh is practicing her French again. Mexican food not really like the stuff we all cook at home but perhaps we´ve just hit the wrong places. The enchiladas aren´t a scratch on Kat's!
Went to the big cinema complex last night and watched los infiltrados enespñol which was super and very funny. It had Leo Dicaprio, Jack Nicolson, Matt Damon, Mark Walberg to name a few in it. We overdone it when we ordered nachos, a hotdog and popcorn, now i´ve never had wastage at the cinema before!
Went in search of the Museo de la Medicina and ended up paying and wlaking around a Leonardo Da Vinci inventions museum, even Sarah was bored at this! Turns out the medicine museum no longer exists, this has taken it over! What were they thinking?!? Off to the Torre de Latinamericana this evening. They even have an aquarium up on the 37th floor - mad!
