Photo in Dublin not Bolivia, closest thing to it uploaded so far!
Stayed in Aroma Residential for a bargain dollar each, Lonely Planet right about terrace view but you get an ice cold shower 3 floors down. Food ain't great here so survive on Mexican tacos and nachos if you can.
Fancy cathedral to see by day in the main square and you can watch the locals blessing their cars with alcohol, silly string and bangers. A little odd but they repeat this everyday @ 2.30pm! I reckon it's to keep people in the car washing business!
We took the boat (30Bs) across to Isla del Sol for the morning before heading to Puno but the morning is not a long enough time for exploring the place, we only made it up the first flight of steps! Suncream a necessity as our faces were very red after only a few hours!
La Paz
Felt too sick from the altitude to see much or stay long. Stayed in the Cactus de Milennia hostel near the Witches' market. Funny bathrooms where you have to step over the showertray to reach the toilet but grand. Had noisey Frenchies when we were there who were dropping each other on the floor above our beds in the early hours.
The Witches' market sells anything useless to backpackers from light bulbs and screws to zippers!
