A lovely city! We arrved on Wednesday and slept for a good 12hrs due to a combination of jetlag and the 8hrs of watching inflight movies!!
We are staying in the Lime House, it feels just like a big student flat, very much liking it, bar open till 4am although we can´t seem to stay awake for long enough to test it out after all our early nights and mornings from camping. Just give us time. Sarah is struggling to cope with her idependance again and asking fellow backpackers strange and inappropriate questions!! Within the hour of arriving she is asking where the laundrette is?!?! And also offended a girl at an info kiosk by asking if there was a bigger office where they can tell us about attractions!! Saying her job just is not good enough!
A quick get away from that awkward moment and off we went for a stroll but Sarah has also gotten lazy here too, very much dragging her heels, asking if i´ve got to be somewhere important. Anyhow it is my turn to ask the questions today and hopefully also be in charge of the purse.

I did get a chance to be incharge yesterday but failed hopelessely with map directions, just like i did with the South Africa road trip map(s)! Sarah those maps weren´t accurate anyway! Plus we are even now that you blew the hire car tyre on our way to the airport, after me repeatedly telling her to watch the huge drain holes at the hostel! The pictures of the shredded tyre will be on show soon. Thankfully we got a guy from the Stellenbosch winery to change tyre for us. But no free samples of wine got on that occasion.
Back to Argentina - went to the Evita museum, worth a visit if you know next to nothing about her but it still leaves you wondering about her step down from politics and who and why her corpse was stolen! Also went to the museum of all the past presidents in the big pink Presidency building, all information in Spainsh so could only manage a quick run around it.
Today we went to the San Telmo plaza/market place, bought a couple of items, had a long lunch with wine, watched some bad tango dancers moving about and practiced some more of my ever improving Spanish. Went without a siesta this afternoon and it´s now 9pm and ready for bed already. It might have been our breakfast experience this morning that has put us off, the smell of alocohol coming off two Canadian fellows after their night out does not mix well with cornflakes at 8 in the morning. Just like being a student again, without the hard work though. And it turns out one of the Canadian guys Grandmother lives in Anstruther and i nursed her at the Windmill nursing home there. How bizarre, it´s such a small world!
Loving the Buenos Aires city so far and we´ve barely touched on it, i think and hope. Went down to the Docks yesterday, just like the Thames, Tate modern and Millenium bridge but without St. Pauls Cathedral Sarah says. Quite like home/normal life, but a nice luxurious break from the first half of our travels.

It was just like the Scottish rains here yesterday and us 2 Scots were about the only ones still in flipflops! Following the tourist info guide book walk around San Martin we found the Cartier, Ralph Lauren etc shops, the rich and famous cemetery, belles artes gallery and also the ´hippie´ market. The cemeteray was a bit spooky and bizarre with huge concrete sculptures and mini buildings for a whole family of coffins, we counted 10 in one of them. There are dozens of cats wandering around and they can give you a free tour of the place if you follow them. Quite a run down place and many coffin spots in rubble, but nice to see that the Evita grave is sparkling and filled with fowers. Went ot the Belle Artes Gallery afterwards and got to see ´The Kiss´sculpture and ´Pandora´s box´painting. Sarah enlgihtened me quite alot today with no complaints!

We returned from Uruguay yesterday on the Busquebus ferry from Montevideo which cost an arm and a leg at 35quid each. Cost 25 GBP from Buenos Aires to Colonia. We have returned to Lime House hostel which has been renamed by old backpackers from the guest book as the ´Line House´. A little crazy. We have been desperate for some good Indian food and landed up at Mumbai Spirit last night, delicious and much needed. Food here in Argentina has been quite dissapointing so we´ve started making our own ham and cheese ATC truck sandwiches! We were both quite homesick yesterday so we phoned the parents and grandparents for cheer ups with great success! Dad had me in tears with laughter, good to hear all of their voices and tales.
No plan for today except chill. xx
