We made it everyone. We are here in Cairns, our final destination. I bet a few of you were worried we wouldnt get here, especially after the 4x4 accident. However, Genie did not let us down. She made the journey, no problems. And furthermore, we have also sold her. It was the craziest thing i had ever seen. Yesterday, when we arrived in Cairns, we went round putting up posters of the car in most of the hostels here. Literally within minutes of arriving back at our own hostel, the phone started ringing. We had four enquiries in the first couple of hours and we took some backpackers for a spin. Later that night, in the wool shed, we met some english girls who had come to have a look. Our asking price was $2500, although we paid $2100 her. They offered us $2000, which we refused.. We said $2300. Eventually in our drunken states we decided to flip a coin. We win we get her for $2300 and if they win they get her for $2200. Unfortunatly we lost but they had to get us a round of drinks in, lol. But, considering we were told that cars lose half their value and sometimes get left at the airport, a profit of $100 is brilliant. We didnt even have time to wash and clean her because it all happened so fast. Good old Genie, she makes me proud. Really gutted to have to sell her.
Anyways, just left the town of 1770 in my last journal. We had to get up at 6.00am because the drive to Airlie beach was 8 hours and we had to check in by 4pm. Woo, that was a killer of a drive. Since Leeroy had burnt is drivers license, its only me and Wills driving now. Long, straight empty roads, in an automatic car, with no ipod = hard to stay awake. We got there with plenty of time to spare and checked in with our sailing company. Tommorow we would be heading out for 2 days and 3 nights on the sailing boat, ragamuffin
(To be completed)
