My God its hot. Sweatin my arse off over here. Currently in Townsville waiting to get across to the Magnetic Islands. Gotta bit of free internet time so gonna do some journal updating.
So... Fraser island was a flamin brilliant, although four months without our ipods is gonna be tough. Because we were delayed by a day, it meant that we had to hit the road as soon as we returned from the island. It would be our first night time drive as you are generally advised against it because of the kangoroos. We pretty much didnt see a single car throughout the 3 hour trip to seventeen seventy, which was pretty cool. The town is called this because it was the second place that Captain Cook visited after Sydney. Its very small, only 80 people live there but its definately on the up. One old shack of a house is apparentlyu worth millions because of where its located, overlooking the ocean. He only bought it for 50000 dollars. We all crashed out as sonn as we arrived, exhaiusted from the Fraser Island experience. The next day, however, has proved to be one of the most memorable so far. We started off with a free 1 hour tour of the town. We then booked 2 of the best activities of the holiday so far, since it is by far the cheapest place to do stuff in Aussie. For 65 dollars (26 pound) we got a 45 minute flight in a cessa plane, including a stop in a completely deserted beach, doing some crab hunting. Bruce, lol, who was the name of the pilot decided to also give us an session of acrobatics in the plane on the way to the beach. His exact words after take off were , "Things we do over here arent exactly legal". Then he decided to plummet towards to the earth, so we all came off our seats and were in complete free fall. The look on Leeroys face was priceless, as he hates rollercoasters. The pilot said he could feel Lees feet pushing into his seat from behind. We have videos that i am hoping to send to everyone cause they are so funny. On the beach Bruce started going crazy crab hunting. He kept chasing them around. There were thousands of the little gits. On arrival back to seventeen seventy we had to get the pilot to drive us to our next activity, which was riding the choppers. Since we landed at 3.45 and it started at 3.30pm, we missed the safety part. Oh well. It was only when we got out on the road that i realised i didnt know where the indicators were. haha. We cruised around for 3 hours, reaching 80-90kph, which seems well quick on the choppers. We saw some wild kangaroos on the way and watched the sunset on some rocks, where we also saw some dophins. We even had a beer stop on the way, lol. Then back on the choppers. We only had one day in seventeen seventy and we made sure we made the most of it. 40 pound for a plane and chopper ride. Anyone going to aussie up the east coast must check this place out.
