Today was the day we got to test out our packing up skills with 2 kids in tow, our aim was to get on the road by 8am with 550km of outback roads ahead of us, which meant a 6am alarm. We didn't do to bad and managed to leave by 8:30am. We wouldn't be able to do it without the help of our fellow travelers giving us a hand with the kids. In the car today our activities keeping the kids occupied were looking out for goats, kangaroos, emus, sheep and saying 'moo' to every cow we passed. Being in 'channel country' we also checked out every creek we went over for water. Riveting stuff hey? For lunch we stopped at Cunnamulla at a nice little park and the kids got to run a bit. Back in the car and off to Quilpie for the night. We arrived at about 4pm, set up camp then headed off to the artisan bore spa for a quick dip before heading to the Quilpie pub for tea. The weather here was beautiful, still 18 degrees when we walked home from the pub at 8:30.
A bit of a late night for the kids tonight but we're on holiday right? Next stop Birdsville, and a 2 night stop means a little time to relax (if that is possible with 2 little explorers running around).
