This morning we packed up quickly and headed to the QANTAS founders museum for a tour of a decommissioned 747. It was really interesting to have a look around and learn a little about these massive planes that Brad maintained when we were living in Sydney. It was also pretty cool getting to stand in their massive engine. I have never been in such a large plane before and have never seen business class...it certainly is the way to fly if you can afford it! We then got to go through a smaller plane that was used for a few different things during its 'life' including being the plane that the Jackson 5 used to travel in.
It was 11:30 by the time we finished the tour so we decided to have an early lunch at the museum cafe. The kids were getting tired and had missed morning tea so we didn't want to get them in the car then have them fall asleep just before a lunch stop. Of course we also got them a little plane each in the shop. This was when we had to say goodbye to Jan and Graeme which was sad for us, but they are lucky enough to still have a few more weeks to travel in the warm QLD weather.
We had a bit over 500kms to drive today so after lunch we really needed to get a wriggle on to get to Charleville before dark. The kids both fell asleep for an hour or so when we got in the car and we only had a quick 15min fuel and toilet stop so we really pushed the kids to there limit today but they both took it pretty well.
When we got to Charleville the kids had lots of fun running around with Sarah and Alex playing hide and seek and exploring while Brad and I set up and got tea organised. I really don't know what we would do without Sarah and Alex keeping our kids entertained on this trip while we are doing the boring stuff, they have been amazing and the kids just adore them!!
