So things have gone down hill over night with our little munchkins. James had a terrible night with his asthma taking hold so this morning we packed up camp and headed to the Boulia 'hospital' in hope to get some redi-pred. I was hoping to make it to Mt Isa to see a Dr but I knew the 4 hour trip in the car was only going to make his coughing worse. We saw 2 lovely second year medical students at the hospital who checked James over, he was so good letting them take his blood pressure, listen to his chest and check his saturation levels. They then had to talk to the nurse, who then did a few odd herself, then rang the Dr in Mt Isa to go through everything with him, then finally get the ok to let us have the redi-pred. Makes you realise how lucky we are in Wagga to have the services we do. We then got the nurse to have a quick look at Ed, but with Ed being Ed he had run around in the treatment room happy as Larry so the nurse didn't seem to concerned. We met the rest of our group at the visitors centre, gave James his medicine, had a cuppa and looked around at the 'MinMin Encounters' then headed off.
Both kids were asleep almost right away and we decided to drive straight through to Mt Isa without a stop. It's like the second you get back into 'civilisation' you need to head to Maccas...or that when you come into town at 2pm starving you know Maccas is fast and there is a playground for the kids, so that is where we headed.
We had booked ensuite sites at Mt Isa but along the road Brad and I had discussed maybe getting a cabin as the kids were so sick. We thought that way they could have a quiet, cool space to play, sleep and watch tv and we could give our fellow campers a chance to get some sleep away from our coughing and crying kids, so that's what we did. It was a hard decision to make as we had been enjoying the camping trailer so much, and it kind of felt like cheating, but it really was best for the kids.
The rest of the afternoon consisted of washing, washing and more washing and a good dose of ABC kids for James and Ed and an early night.
