It has been a few days this my last entry. Thank you for reading and commenting and things I LOVE it :D.
TBH Dad I think I need to start reading JC's blog to get some tips.
Well I have had quite a busy few days. I have been registering for classes and starting my courses here. Lessons are quite different from at home. All classes are done more like a tutorial and there are no big lectures in the lecture theaters (well for myself anyways). And there are actually only two big lecture halls.
The student KAMO which is like the union organized a day trip for the exchange group which was fantastic.
We went to a ski tunnel which is quite near Kajaani. We went for a wee look in the tunnel and oh my days it was so so cold. It was -6. I think I found it especially cold as it was about 15 + outside and I only had a cardigan on.
Next we went up the biggest mountain in the Kaniuu region and it was so cool cause all you could see for miles and miles was forest, which Finland is really famous for. Like literally as far as your eye could see was forest.
Then we went to what I think was one of the most beautiful places in the world that I have ever had the chance to go to. It was a lake called Lake Ruuhijiarvi. There are some pictures and it was just the most breathtaking place. It was so so calm and pretty and the weather was gorgeous so that made it even better. There was this plank of wood like a pier, I think they are maybe called jettys? I am not too sure but this plank thing, went into the water and you could just sit and relax on it and it was just amazing.
Then we cooked some sausages on the fire and they were so so yummy. It really was one of the best afternoons ever.
That evening the KAMO had also arranged the first sauna evening. We went into Kajaani town were the sauna was located downstairs in a pub. First of all the KAMO wanted to toast our arrival in Finland and the help of the tutoring students (who are fantastic) with a traditional Finnish shot. Salemaki. It kind of tastes like licorice, I have no clue was was in it but never mind. Then we went to the sauna which was the most high tec one I had ever seen. It had a tv in it and everything. It was so so good and I managed to handle the heat alot better than I thought I would. Afterwards I felt so relaxed and my skin felt so so fresh. I now understand why the Finnish people love the sauna so much.
Thats about all my antics for the minute. I have just been going to class and today I had my first adventure to the bank or Pankki in Finnish, to pay my rent which was a success.
The weather has been gorgeous over the last few days really sunny and warm so I am hoping this continues for a little while at least.
I have to do some studying tomorrow and then it will be the weekend. We are maybe going to go ice skating or to visit the lake that is close to the apartment and maybe for a wee night out...it will be a Saturday after all.
Remember to comment :D
