Well it has been a little while since my last entry and I feel terrible for neglegting my blogging duties.
I have been really busy just going to class etc and all the boring things. I did however go away for the weekend to Oulu which is quite exciting.
Oulu is north east of Kajaani and a much bigger city. However like all of Finland it is still very quiet. We had to get the train so so early at 6.20 major eww and I had to get up at 4.30 because it takes 30 minutes to walk to the train station. Despite the very early start we all made it on to the train. We were enjoying a quiet journey and a little sleep when suddenly omg there was all this beeping, rattling and comotion. The train man then came round and told us that unfortunatly we had crashed. Yes, elk season began that morning and two elk had run onto the track and we crashed into them. This was quite a wake up and the first elk experience of the day. When we finally safely arrived in Oulu we went to our hotel to check in and leave our luggage. We then spent Saturday exploring Oulu and the market sqaure and the sights, unfortunatly the weather was not great but we still had so much fun. We also went to a traditional Finnish restaurant for lunch/dinner which was amazing. It was gorgeous and cosy and smelt amazing and was just great. We had a reindeer starter and then I had elk meat balls which were amazing.
In the evening we visitied the spa and sauna which was so good after it being such a cold and wet day. We then got ready and headed out for some cocktails in Oulu centre which was lovely.
The next day we went to the science museum which was the most fun ever and to the planatraium, (Emma W, there was a black hole machiene and I didn't think you would like it there.) It was really nice weather on Sunday so we went to the park place for a wee look which was good and then we headed home.
I had such a fun weekend :D. Other than that I have just been at class etc. I have started zumba which is great but really difficult but still really fun.
I am going away this weekend again to Ruka it is just directly below the arctic circle, an update will appear in due course with all the latest Finlandia antics.

Amanda Glad to hear that you all survived the train crash unharmed. Sounds like a great experience but I don't think that I could've eaten reindeer and elk!! Looking forward to your next blog. Continue having fun and take care x
