It's time to bid goodbye to the lovely Byron Bay! I didn't really want to wake up because it was so cold, but I was attracted to the blueberry pancakes! Brr. It was frosty at the window! A cool shower got us all woken up and we were ready to help out with breakfast and enjoyed bacons, eggs, and pancakes in return. MMM. Slurp! Then we were off to Coffs Harbour and Byron Bay lighthouse for a quick stop, and there was the most easterly point of inland Australia! We managed to spot a group of dolphins down below, as well as some wallabies. Cute! After a day of travelling and a quick lunch stop, we arrived at our surf camp at Cresent Head (Safaris)! We were out to catch the waves during daylight so we changed into our wetsuits quickly and headed out for our first surf lesson! After learning about the parts of the board (rail, nose, tail, leg wrap..), we had a few practices in the sand before we hit the water! It wasn't too cold with our wetsuits on so we could have some great fun without freezing, but the waves were quite rough for us beginners so we had a hard time padding out and swallowed heaps of sea water. It's a whole load of fun and very, very addictive! But soon the tide was moving in so we had to move out cause the waters were too deep and the sun was quickly setting. So we headed back to shower and rinse our wetsuits before it gets to cold. Dinner was curry! We chilled out at the common area while the cat nestled itself comfortably between me and Jo, and watched some surf movies which showcased some top surf spots like Byron Bay, Tahiti, South Africa and so on. We also had a music session by our surfing instructor and Alim our in-house performer! Starting to feel really tired from my day so good night world!
