China&Peru 2006
12th Flew to Puerto Maldonado in the Amazon Basin and then jumped on a boat for a 3 hour ride to our lodge- the lodge was gorgeous, made totally of wood with no windows (mossie nets and chicken wire to keep us nice and safe though...) and no electricty. Very romantic because there were candles everywhere, so Matt and I made the most of it.......... or not.
We went out on a night time walk to catch sight of some nocturnal wild life.
13th July- Woken up at 0530!! took a boat upstream to see an oxbow lake, catch a pirhana in the oxbow lake, see some butress roots and a "prostitute tree" (tree that is guarded by ants and unfaithful girls were tied to it as punishment.....ouch).
Spent the entire afternoon snoozing in a hammock and now fully intend to set one up back home...(mum&dad I really think that it would be a very good idea, it would get me spending more time outdoors and appreciating ALL that work that you do in the garden- it may even persuade me to do some! dont hold your breath though)
