Dad Hi there Piers. So how many of the 80 children's names can you reel off now. Perhaps you should give it a go as you will have to start cranking the grey cells back to life before long. It sounds like you have struck lucky with your host family; it makes so much difference to your appreciation of a place. (don't forget to get something, for the Mum at least, before you leave)I don't suppose they play too much cricket there so what do they do for sport at this time of year? Castleton has returned to a more healthy state now thank goodness although Malory can still fake a good impression of someone who is restricted to bed for convalescence. Actually to be fair she has regularly been getting up at a reasonable time to complete her sowing projects before her next session with the lady in Caterham. At this rate you won't need to purchase any more chinese pyjamas because she should be able to knock them up before breakfast!! mum Thanks for the latest update sounds reeeally exciting stuff and all taken in your stride. Well all those bites must mean the pills don't work or maybe they havn't kicked in yet as needed a couple of weeks. Can't wait to hear about the amazon- a film about mega-soldier ants comes to mind!!!! and pirhana fish, so no swimming if you like having 10 toes! Dad Hello to the three muskateeros. Well if nothing else you should be able to read a bus timetable by the time you get back. I have to say it all sounds wonderful.......and you get some sunshine too! You've mentioned a few nice eating experiences such as the veggie soup: don't be too shy to ask for the recipe - people are normally only too keen to share their "piece de resistance" with anyone who takes an interest. Your encouragement regarding the need to take exercise is well intentioned I'm sure but possibly a little misplaced. Its been a case of not so much cycling the tour as touring the cycle......but I get closer every time I look at it. I was taken by Mum, Malory and Hunnams on Sunday to the Hampton Court Flower Show. I could say the high point of the day was the boat trip from the station across the Thames to Hampton Court. But that would be disingenuous because it was all rather spectacular: although how they get the flowers on the stands to grow ten foot tall I will never know!!! And since then, both Pallory Wallory and your Muvver have been decidedly poorly. Both are on drugs and I hope they kick in soon as it sounds like Battersea Dogs Home here at the minute (and for most of the night). I've stepped up the wine intake to try and fend off the germs - I'll keep you posted. Please tell Matt thet I think he is a wimp for not taking the flight, even if he did avoid the experience of being chundered over by the other passenger. But I remember flying over the Grand Canyon with you and you certainly get a different view from that at ground level. And what of Michelle: has she enjoyed the bug bites and freezing nights? Has it been a picnic for her? I'm sure her SA roots will have stood her in good stead. I look forward to reading about the next leg of your trip and insist that you all keep well. Bye for now. Sorry we lost out on some pearls, click save next time instead of delete!The Shaolin Acadamy should have been good training for your local dance then and it sounds like the altitude isn't too bad if you can dance around? I hadn't imagined Lake Titicaca to have buildings on it's shoreline for some reason, looks like quite a population living there. Talking of lakes Dad attacked the garden pond last sunday so it's only two thirds of the size now. I think you start the Inca Trail today, very jealous, look forward to hearing how it goes, take care, lol x

Dad Hi Piers. Seems to me that the timing of your return is just about right as each few days now seems to bring a new injury. Anyway, I hope it hasn't interfered with progress too much. The snake story seems to put paid to the idea that in the sunshine they will always try to get out of your way before you arrive - could be a good lesson for Stage II of your travels in Peru. Needless to say, the populace here is heavily caught up with World Cup fever. We play Trinidad & Tobago tonight who managed a draw with Sweden. After all the hype it will be interesting to see if the Premiership stars can at last deliver - will Rooney play or won't he? That question has filled up pages and pages of newsprint. I don't know how close to International news you are but did you see that England RFU got whopped 30+ to 3 last Sunday by the Ozzies. Oh, how the mighty are fallen! One thing you will be pleased to hear about is that we have a total hosepipe ban and limited use in other areas. So washing cars is somewhat restricted but of course that won't affect you will it, although right now your car is the cleanest its been since you bought it. Malory only has one Physics exam left on friday and you can imagine how pleased we shall all be when that's over. All things considered she's managed to maintain an even keel throughout, which has been much appreciated. Mum and I are off to a Carribean party on Saturday so don't expect too much liveliness on Sunday: the cocktails may still be having an effect. But I have to say Mum's grass skirt looks wonderful so here's to a good bash. OK before I go, there is just one thing. Remember that the people you have been practising with for the last 10 weeks all signed up for the same punishment - we didn't, so please have some respect for these ageing bones.......or else. MUM Hi Piers, got Ofsted at school tomorrow so last night I unboxed the laminator I bought 12-18 months ago and had a pile of sheets to laminate, put the first sheet in and perfect job, put the second sheet in and it never came out!!!! Looked on the box and saw "MADE IN CHINA" -so tell Matt he's right it literally lasted 5 mins, if you don't count the 18 months it sat in the box. Think it's past it's guarantee date too. Expensive machine. Well 2 more weeks of GCSE's and then your home, time flies. Must be strange as I'm sure you'll miss the acadamy but at the same time must be feeling excited about Peru.
