China&Peru 2006
Well the 2nd week of training is already at an end!
Since Monday, my Sifu has been teaching me a Dao sword form and the "sword flower" (a pretty way of swinging the sword around). I have also been tarting around with the goon staff. It has been BL**DY hot for the last couple of days which can only only be a good thing!
On a slightly less positive note, I have lost all of my hair. The story goes something a little like this; I bought some clippers in Si Ping last weekend (a bargain at 3 pounds!) and decided to put them to the test. After Matt joking about all cheap Chinese goods breaking within 5 minutes, I switched them on and shaved away with erratic swipes all over the place. 3 minutes later, disaster struck! The clippers switched off. For good.
Once I had tried them in every socket available in the academy, I finally accepted that all cheap chinese goods break within 5 minutes, and having wiped the tears from my eyes I reached for my Mach 3......
20 minutes later, I had succesfully stripped myself of my hair (and my dignity with it) and transformed into something that closely resembles an ork.
With my cap firmly in place, we headed downstairs to use the computers only to find that there was a power cut!
15 minutes after this, the power came back on, along with my fricking clippers!!!!! Gutted doesn't quite cover it.
Anyway I nearly did a forward somersault today so that cheered me up no end (along with the chocolate binge).
I hope everyone is doing well, please send me news from back home!
