Lovely to see you met grumpy monks, slapped some monkeys and went to Yangers - sounds like you enjoyed the karst! We too did cooking, but managed to avoid poisoning ourselves.
Enjoy Honkers - if you fancy a SLAP up meal upon return to British civilisation then M on the Fringe is the place to go. Went there for Si's 30th and they were ace, they let us put sparklers in his pudding and everything. Good roof top bar there too if you don't fancy the meal.
We are of no use to you beyond China. Good luck my friends.

What is going on with the shaky face pics on Facebook??! Explaination please! Had a great birthday weekend, missed you both though, Polly I managed to make it to 1am on Friday night before I had to go home, I guess stamina comes with age as well as wisdom,!xx
Mum Again
Me again. Have just seen Mount Emei photos. Looks hard work. Not as bad as Lake district this weekend when a marathon was called off 'cos of freak storm. On Sat. night 1,700 walkers were unaccounted for. This dropped to 5 the next morning! 13 in hospital with hypothermia etc. But no cockroaches or greedy monks at the end, and certainly no wild monkeys...but that would make the Lake D even more interesting!
Main reason for the blog is of course to say I am totally, totally envious of the pandas. Bit livelier than the one in the States. I only managed the one in Hong Kong zoo. Well worth a visit, even if you hate zoos.

Am sure the parenting helped you cope with the dancing and crazy women as well as telling driver off!
If you have only managed one bout of food poisoning you are doing well. Polly were you ill too?
Envy the chilling out and cycling in countryside...I did that too but only for one day, Is it the River Li? it is so beautiful.
Don't get jaded just enjoy every moment, it beats working! (Although I would give the food poisoning and rock climbing a miss) Love to both x
Buffy
So jealous of your hiking adventures (not so jealous of your cooking ones). You just don't get monkeys in the Lake District :-( xx

I can't believe you've been gone 6 weeks already! I have had a look at what you've been up to and i've decided that you have had far too much fun already and it's about time you headed back to the real world!!! I am only kidding stay away as lomg as you can - I am only envious especially with these short cold days!
We have just come back from an amazing 3 weeks in Egypt and Jordan and looking forward to seeing the crew next week in Cork. Wish you guys were there too, but i'll catch up with your news regularly on here.
Take care, lots of love Kim xxx
Alison
Haaarrrrooold indeed.......you guys are hilarious but my loyalties will always remain with the evil Janine pushing Bazza off a cliff in Eastenders! You both deserve at least one day of rest after that trek (because you've only been holidaying since mid September) and no, I am not bitter, twisted or green with jealousy!Pol - power cut last week in Bruton Place. We were literally "in the dark" for the whole day with zero power but luckily Pete sent us all home around 2pm - hooray for Pete!Steph and I went shopping.
Also, Helen has had her baby on 14 October (I completely forgot to tell you) - Thomas Christopher Newman!Mother and baby are doing great and he is an absolute peach.I've sent you pictures on hotmail.
Continue having fun guys and stay away from reality for as long as possible as the UK is in meltdown. Mind you don't stay away too long as there may be nothing to come back to!
Big kiss Ali xx

a-may-zing. polly I didn't think anything could beat the video on my mobile of you dancing at danehurst, but I think that surpassed it. Love the pictures so much - sights of the rubbish food on offer bringing back haunting memories of SA (although I do miss being that skinny!)
I watched a film last week called Mongols - with Gers and everything - so I really sympathise for the culture shock you clearly landed yourself in (although the film was from donkeys ago but I imagine it to be the same!)
Been in Turkey with work all week which was cool - although Boss not happy I've come back with a tan. Well done me. Will miss you guys at Buffs and Imo's this weekend. Will put in a dance specially for you.
lots of love, Tan xx
Oh and I'd rather you hit the monks than the monkeys (clearly just a lesser form).
P.S - Pete - come on be honest, just how embarrassed are you of Polly?!
Campbell Edgar
Hi. I can see you are having a huge amount of fun. While you have been away, capitalism has done its best to go into meltdown (don't tell the chinese....), but we are through the worst. I LOVED the dancing!
Bon voyage!
