When I arrived in Pipa, I changed my mind about where to stay, as the only one to meet me at the bus station from a pousada was from my second choice, Albergue da Rosa. Rosie was a really sweet lady, who made a great breakfast for us, was helpful and nice to us.
As I was walking from the bus station to the pousada through town, I had a tap on my shoulder from Karin, the Dutch girl from Canoa Quebrada. She was staying in a pousada just down the hill from me, so we saw each other a few times more over the next few days.
In my dorm room, I met an Israeli guy called Perry. Soon after, I would meet a couple more guys, Fred from England and Dave, a Mexican who goes to uni in England. Dave and Fred were travelling together, and were funny to be around. I also met a German guy, Jonas, and a couple of Argentinians.
Our days were spent going to the beach in the day time and going out drinking at the limited choice of bars in the evening. It didn't matter as we still had fun. One night, we met some Brazilians. In the group were two brothers and a sister. Their English was good as each had spent some time studying in the States. There was samba music in one of the bars, so we danced a bit, and after chatting for some time, I got to know the Brazilian girl Carolina quite well.
One of the beaches was called Dolphin Beach, where unsurprisingly, dolphins can be found. What was great though, was that you can swim out twenty metres or so and swim with them. At times, they can come within a few metres while you're swimming. They come really close to the shore too, in search of food.
After spending a few days in Pipa, Perry, Dave, Fred and I headed south to Porto do Galinhas, for some more of the same - beach, sun and fun.
