I know i havent written for a long time but i was at my relatives in America and nothing interesting happened there..
its Sept 10th and i have officially been in Toronto for 1.5 weeks This week has been completely overwhelming, hectic and possibly the most enjoyable week ever!..Moving into Neill Wycik was an anti-climax.. i had been told to expect the worst and the room turned out to be pretty decent.. Yes.. there is a big black spot on the cieling, Yes..the walla were a bit dirty but that has now all been fixed thanks to my superb moaning skills and by smiling at the maintenance guys.. apprently not every1 is nice to them so if you are then the work gets done!:D
I met my first bunch of exchange students at the RiSexc Scavenger hunt..Forming groups of 6 strangers we roamed around downtown taking photos and crossing out the huge list of places we were to go to. Highlight of the trip was us taking a "creative" photo at the CN tower.. so my group decided to take a photo topless ( i lie.. we just pretended to be topless) and that won us a whole heap of points in the Scavenger hunt. We also managed to collect flyers of Casa Loma, take photos with a limo, a chinese street sign and meet the famous "Sock" ( hes a fav puppet on a music channel). At the end of it our feet were so sore we chilled out at Mick e Fynns our local pub down the road and met yet another bunch of locals who had taken all this time to organise the hunt for us...
Next in line was the Frosh Parade!.. Ryerson organised a parade where students walked down the streeets of TO with a huge band, floats and generally making a lot of noise and chanting why ryerson is the best! School spirit was at an ultimate high and people stopped working to come see us.. the main song of the day was "SUX TO BE U of T" We headed over to the Toronto Islands where a big concert was organised and there was free food, drink and ofcourse BEER!.. was a hot sunny day and every1 took advantage of it by runnin over to the beach, swinging on the swings and doing general summery stufff...
I also ended up making a friend at a Traffic Signal while asking her for directions and so after all the partying we decided to have a girls night in.. which the boys decided to crash!:(.. kristy has an awesome condo on the waterfront where we chilled out, got wasted and took a whole heap of photos.. once suitably drunk we decided to "explore" the facilities and managed to get lost in the games room n also in the swimming pool.. was good fun.. dats all i remember of the night unfortunately.. (i have spent an amazing amoutn of money on Vodka.. MUST STOP!)
Another highlight of the week was my experience with Street Meat.. YEs! i know how raunchy that sounds especially considering i live in the gay/prostitute section of town. Well actualy is quite innocent... its HOT DOGS!!.. these are the best ul ever taste for $2.50 not only do u get the meat and the bread but u can choose from over 15 different kind of toppings and as i am learning it is an art to eat the hot dog once you have dumped all the dips n sauces n peppers.. hmm yumm m salivating at the thought of it!
Neill Wycik may not be as posh as Primrose but it is definately PARTY CENTRAL!.. am living on a floor where only business exchange students live and its amazing!.. every night we gettogether on the roof top or go visit our neighbours and i never thought making friends would be this easy.. its been an amazing orientation week...
P.S. note how i have not mentioned anything about uni because we all know exchange is NOT abt the studying...;)
