". . .life is short and the world is wide"
Breakfasts at the villa on Sunday mornings are just not something that you can ever miss, so that was partly the reason that I awoke, so get fresh squeezed orange juice, eggs, homemade coffee cake and my favorite granola and fruit. Talk about a feast! Carnivale is just a completely different experience, something that would never happen to the same extent in the states (Marti Gras comes close, but not even quite!) and we are completely missing out. Carival season happens all over Europe, and a time when everyone in a community comes together to celebrate the coming of ash Wednesday with amazing food, floats, music and costumes. Probably one of the most fun experiences of culture I have had in Italy yet. Sarah and I were getting pelted with confetti and silly string all day. We ate tons of sweet carnival food and even got a change to walk along the beach of the sea. It was a beautiful day and even though I only have 4 hours of sleep, I was able to make the most out of the day, it was sooooo amazing!!! I could tell you much more about carivale but I'm not going to at this point because I have to write a 10 page paper on it, and also do a photo journalism project, so I'll just wait to let you look at that when I come back to the states if you are interested... which you should be!!!!!
