". . .life is short and the world is wide"
Buon Giorno! I am just getting ready for bed after SUCH a long day!
Last night I went out with 3 girls into Florence and met some Italian friends and went out to a club. They got us in for free and there was a bazillian dance show and it was beauitful! We watched the show and then talked a lot in Italian and did some dancin! It was interesting because a lot of the music was American, in fact most of it was, and our Italian friends said there were hardly any americans inthe club. It was so much fun, and eveyrone was speaking italian so I got a lot of practice! You all would be so proud of me, I am getting really good at speaking Italian, and my Italian friends are willing to help me and its so fun. I hope someday I can be fluent, we'll see, its fun!
This morning I work up bright at early to catch a bus at 8 am to Sienna, about an 1.5 hours away. We went around the city, and enjoyed the beautiful tuscan landscape, absolutely gorgeous! We went to the duomo, cathedral and many museum.s Are professors go with us on our city tours, and they are so incredibly knowledgeble. I cannot believe everything they know about history and art and about these ancient cities and traditions, it blows my mind. I have learned so much about the importance of these places. We got a break in the middle of the day, walked around and ate lunch with my friend in the "piazza", which is the center of town and the sun was shining so bright! We got cappucino's, and they met up again with our professors to tour another museum. After our last museum we went shopping... there is great shopping in Sienna! I got 2 pairs of shoes for under 50 euro, and a cute lil sweater. I bought the sweater, tried it on and asked the woman questions about it ALL IN ITALIAN! I was so proud of myself! I slept the entire way home, I was exhausted. Dinner tonight, chicken, marinara pasta, bread... the usual yumminess.
Planned our trip to Bologna tomorrow, and got our train tickets. We also worked on planning our trip to Milan and Turino to see "fashion week" and the olympics. I am going to see a ice hockey game... I AM SOOOO PUMPEd! Its going to be a great weekend, fashion and hockey, how much better can it get!? I have already forgotten that I will have classes and tests to study for, but luckily they give us somewhat of a break, at least I hope.
I am going on a hike tomorrow at 9 so I have to get to bed, a long weekend awaits! Hiking then off to bologna for shopping, a wonderful italian dinner out on the town, and then out with the gang. Sunday we are gonna hitup a modern art museum for classe di Moderno Arte, and they head back to get homework done! Should be fun, I'll update pics soon! Love you all molto molto molto!
