New Years Eve [different from usual!]; David and Gillian had a hard climb to two waterfalls just behind our cabanas. Willis was catching up lost time with her friend Josie. Late afternoon David and Victor went out fishing; under Victor's guidance David caught his first Lago Traful trout. In the evening we sent a fun evening with Josie and Victor's family on the camp site cooking and wine tasting [and drinking!]. It is not often New Year is spent in such beautiful scenery, with new friends cooking a kid [goat] over an open fire.

New Years Day; again spent at the camp. Ella, Josie and Victor's daughter in law cooked home made [on a campsite!] ravioli stuffed with freshly caught trout including David's. Served with a home made tomato sauce. David and Gillian practiced their mate drinking.

January 2nd 2008; day trip to Villa La Angosturas, which proved to be a very attrractive up market holday/ski resort. A 45 min boat trip to visit a rare tree/shrub [Arrayanes] on Penisula Quetrihue in Lago Nahuel Huapi [a national park]. We chose to walk the 13 km back to the car along the peninsula and through a forest.
