Today we took a drive out to Cambridge to have a look around the colleges and to have punt along the river.
We parked outside of the town and caught a bus in. The gardens were immaculate. Beautifully manicured grasses, bright and colourful flowers and historical buildings. We went through Trinity College where we saw some really intricate features all over the buildings and a gazebo style water feature in the centre of the courtyard.
After that we made our way to the water to go for a punt. A punt is basically a flat bottom boat. The college students drive them with these long poles that they dig into the ground under the water and push off. The guy we had wasn't a student but gave us a history lesson on all the colleges, buildings, bridges and famous students. It was so relaxing as well as educational and just fun! I would highly recommend a visit to the punters at Cambridge!
As we walked around throughout the day we stopped in at some of the shops. I was able to pick up some amazing little bits and pieces, my favourite being a a solar powered waving queen! Freaking awesome!!! I picked up some other pretty cool things too, but I can't say what they are because they're gifts!!!!!
Ended the day with a nice meal and guess what, a couple of champagnes!!!!!
