Freezing frickin cold in the morning, just so you know. Jas and I headed to the park nice and early to get a workout in. So cold my nose was running like a tap, almost to the point it wasn't worth blowing because icicles would come out. Brrrrrrrr! The workout was good and Jas did an awesome job, she makes me proud!!!!
Once we got back I got myself ready for a day at Windsor Castle. I was so excited!!!! We jump in the car and in only 45 minutes we are there! Seriously, these Brits don't know how lucky they are!!!!! As we are driving along the motorway, the castle pops out of no where in all it's grandeur, looked amazing from a distance.
We had to line up to get in but the line went really quickly. As soon as I walked in, I was blown away. The buildings were just so grand and amazing. There was seriously nowhere you could look without being blown away by either how beautiful it was or the history behind it. The gardens were spectacular! I felt sorry for the guards, again. Such young boys in that heavy uniform. They always look like they're going to keel over. Still got a photo with one, I didn't feel that bad for them ;-)
We walked through the State Apartments and got to see all sorts of historic relics. The detail in each of the rooms, the paintings, the tapestry, the ceilings, everything was just unbelievably intricate and amazing! I seriously could go back everyday for a year and still find more to look at. I wish I could have taken photos in there because there were colours there that had actually been flown into battle. I obviously understand why I couldn't, but it was just amazing. If only every person that walked through there understood the meaning and importance behind those details.
As we were finishing up a group of guards marched by so I grabbed a couple more sneaky, or not so sneaky pics, and we headed out for lunch. Oh, almost forgot, I sent a postcard from inside Windsor Castle!!!
We stopped in this little place called Drury House. It was like stepping back in time. We both ordered a traditional English Sunday roast beef, with Yorkshire puddings of course. It was scrumptious! I do love Yorkshire pudding!!! By the time we got home I was knackered and had a hit of a LLD, again woken by my sister with a cup of tea, love her!!!!
In the evening, Carole, Dessa and her boyfriend Michael came by for a BBQ dinner. We had a great night chatting and laughing, and drinking. I've kind of claimed Carole and Dessa as my friends too now, they are just amazing. The evening finished with Jen pouring a very strong vodka raspberry for means me taking my sorry ass to bed.
An excellent day and even better last night spent with wonderful people.
