Set to meet Alex and Anna for breakfast at 9 am in the breakfast lounge. It was extremely hot last night (our hotels the last couple of nights haven't had a/c, which is the European standard according to Alex) so we were ready pretty early and took our time packing and loading our car before 9.
After a hearty breakfast (I've really been enjoying all the bountiful breakfasts served at our German hotels, which I've learned is the standard, unlike in France, where you generally have to over pay for breakfast), we strolled aimlessly, and we ended up strolling the whole town. We even got to see the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place runners of the half marathon going on that morning. Yes, a half marathon half run on cobblestone streets!
We stopped at a tucked away cafe for a light lunch of salads and Radlers, and then we walked back to the centre of town for some 'schneeballs' - deep fried dough balls coated in different toppings. At that point, it started to thunder, so we took that as our cue to head back to the hotel to part ways.
Alex and Anna headed back home to Breman, and Pete and I headed to Wurzburg.
