Driving through the rain can make you sleepy, so good thing Creglingen was on our way to Wurzburg. Did you know tha Creglingen is home to the what I would imagine is the most extensive fingerhut collection. In fact, there is a museum for them. Fingerhuts, or finger hats, are what i call thimbles, but what Germans called 'finger hats'...makes sense. Anyway, for two euros, one can see a very large variety of thimbles all housed in one room. There wer thimbles from centuries past, thimbles from many different countries, and thimbles of many different materials. Unfortunately, no pictures allowed. I can't even remember all the designs I saw, but I'm quite amazed at the creativity of people and the skill in how some of those thimbles were made!
Of course I had to buy a thimble museum thimble as a souvenir. next, we went across the street to the church. This church is famous for having the largest oldest carved relief depicting scenes of Mary and Christ's life. A little creepy if you ask me. After some quick referencing from the pamphlet, we were on the road again.
