Yes hello! by popular demand I am back. thanks to the both of you!
Well things haven't really changed here, from the last time that I blogged. Except that now I have finaly admitted to myself that Spanish is not one of my stronger points.........and that its more appropriate for Angela to get more practice in English!
Now is my final week of the project! wow - its been 4 weeks already! Have had some fun, and will miss some of the kiddies there (some). This week its only two of us, as the two girls left last week to travel to Bolivia. The trumpet lessons are progressing slowly, but some of them show promise! Two of the kiddies can play a scale from c -g now and can also play one basic tune - "hot cross buns". Not too sure if they have this tune in Peru?
After the success of the quad biking a few weeks back (no one was killed). I thought it would be a good idea to hire a proper road bike! Yes - what a good idea! Here in Peru, it would appear you don't need a licence to ride a bike, and you can hire bikes for £4.50 an hour!...and for that money they are less than 1 year old. So last weekend I got one for two days! and after 3 hours of practice on some quite roads, Iwent with Angela to Pisac, which is about 1 hour away. To get there you have to go throught the Sacred Valley which is stunning. Luckily the road is really quite, so it was fun and safe! Although when we got to Pisac the police pulled us over and demanded ownership documents for the bike, so a quick bribe of 7 soles (£1.25) and we were on our way! (Cheap asses).
This week is Semana Santa, so its there is much going on in the main plaza this week.............much of the same as what me mother dragged me to see in Spain! (only joking) - I'll see if I cant get some pictures!
Enough blogging for the time being. Take care all of you!
