Hello from Luang Prabang, Laos after a very uncomfortable but v interesting 3 day slow boat journey! We have finally arrived, despite much scepticism after the initial boarding of our boat, when the boat filled to nearly double its capacity and people were sat on the floor down the aisle of the boat, and with all the bags in the engine room. Was a totally ridiculous situation and just when you thought more people couldn't get on, they did and the boat tipped to nearly 90 degrees on its side with all the weight. Thankfully with much protestation they decided to charter another boat and it became safe to travel on with half the load! 2 days later and we are finally chilling out, not sat rigid like a surf boad on church pews, but in a frenchy cafe eating pastries and drinking capuccinos!

Tomorrow we are elephant riding in the Laos jungle and giving them a scrub with a broom, before renting a bicycle and cycling off round the city stopping only for a glass of vino now and then! Peder wanted to participate in the 3 hour kayak back to our hotel, but managed to persuade him a 2 min tuk-tuk was a better option! Will put photos on tomorrow of Asia so far. Off to Hanoi, Vietnam on Sat will update with our adventures there.
