More mosquito bites last night. I was up in the early hours using our as yet untested, expensive suction pump. It creates a suction over the puncture and the venom - from mosquitos, horseflies, wasps, spiders, nettles etc. is sucked back onto the surface of the skin and can be wiped off. The advertising blurb on the packaging says it is part of French soldiers kit and is used by Mèdicin sans Frontiers. Surprisingly, it seems to have worked.
It was bitterly cold again this morning and very grey. We have travelled some 270kms today and arrived at the aire in brilliant sunshine. Very warm. The trip was very scenic. We came over the Sierra de Greda, seeing snow on some of the peaks.
There's a museum - a superb modern building - in the village and, as jubilados (senior citizens) we were admitted for €1.30 each instead of €1.90. The village is a centre of lace making and lace, pottery and paintings by local artist Marcial Moreno Pascual form the exhibition. The young woman who took our money closed her booth and gave us a guided tour. As she spoke not a word of English, we appreciated her efforts but it was hard work, and not only for her!.
