We can see the sea - just a glimpse through the buildings - from the 'aire', in reality a roadside parking place shared by two Spanish vans which we suspect live here.
When we arrived on the 2nd we walked down to the little harbour and had a couple of coffees, a red wine and a draught alcohol-free beer in a nearby bar. No tapas, free wifi. Returning there today - mainly to visit the Tourist Info which, contradicting the advertised opening hours, was shut - we revisited the bar and ordered coffee. It wasn't long before the first of a steady procession of tapas was brought to our table. We ended up following the coffees with alcohol-free beers - they really are excellent, no difference in taste to a continental lager - and finally a glass each of Rioja. Those, together with at least a dozen substantial tapas (bacon, cheese and olives, various hams, little savory slices etc etc) cost us €6. We were going to have the set lunch but that will have to wait until tomorrow, should we decide to stay another night. A sunny morning turned to rain by lunch (or tapas) time.
The Executioner put paid to an airborne mosquito during the night with a great crack of sound and brilliant spark. Soooo satisfying ... Found the corpse next morning, my side of the bed.
Talking of loud cracks and brilliant sparks, at Coruna, last night three maroons were set off mid-evening. No apparent reason. Here, at half past midnight, the first of thirty six went off. A tremendous flash and bang each time.
