Hello, sorry it´s been so long since our last entry but.....
anyway, i´m not sure we will be able to recall everything we have been up to in the last month, but we will try and come up with a few highlights.
The wedding was great fun, the reception was set in some old church ruins and it will probably be the swanky(ist) party we ever attend. We were even able to drag ourselves up for a few dances to the marimba band.
On one of weekends, we took a trip to a pacific beach called Monterrico. It was really nice to just chill out, feel a bit of heat, and have swim in our nice pool ( see photos). It was beautiful place with black sands, we also went on a Mangrove sunrise tour which was quite stunning.
We have both now been taking out morning and afternoon classes for a while, and are really getting attached to some of the kids. Which is going to make leaving a week on Friday all the more difficult, tears will be shed.
We´ve got quite a few photos posted of our trip to Lake Atitlan trip, which included a bike ride, kayak and hike. Unfortunatly at such a high altitude and on an extremly windy day, kat came off her bike and had quite a nasty fall. She´s on the road to recovery and should be climbing up a volcano in next three weeks :0). Patrick taxi´d kat about in our twin kayak, which was good fun, and the hike Patrick did on his own had some great views. All was made better when we arrived at our stunning hotel, we had an amazing view of the three volcanoes and the lake from our room. We all put our money together ( including some other volunteers), and rented the hot tub beneath the stars. It was the most amazing evening, having beer and rum, soaking in the hot tub, and watching over a dozens shooting stars in the clearest night sky. We even got a light show when all the villages lights across the lake kept on getting their power cut, on and off.
Well that will do for now, we are still planning to have x-mas in Mexico, and are just trying to sort out a room . Hope all is well back at home, don´t mention the football. Thanks for the messages, love you all
