Hello!
Okay a quick one beacuse it has taken me 30 minutes just to open this site and i only have 13 minutes left on the internet cafe. To write quicker I will just make a since-the-last-time-i-wrote-I-have list. so here goes.
SINCE THE LAST TIME:
- I have driven all the way across Northwestern Uganda. From Masindi to Arua (to meet the two boys from DK.) by hitchhiking along with Ugandan soldiers and families headed for a big market. 5 hours each way.
- I have driven through amazing wilderness, savannahs, mountains and across the Nile two times each way.
- I have seen Baboons and Gazelles, so a tinee tiny safari for me.
- I have learned how to make chapati. We spent some time this morning making chapatis with the girl working for our 'mum'. So deliscious.
- I have witnessed how the Matatu driver starts his car by connecting to wires.
- I have been covered in red dust because the matatu we were in had a hole in the botom just by my feet and the road was bumpy and red, so the dust was overwhelming.
- I have been to an African March for building local democracy. There were dancers and men playing drums on the back of trucks and a man on stilts.
- I have helped at a local Dental Health Project, were dentist students from Kampala came to Masindi too treat and check children at different schools and other inhabitants willing to wait in line.
- I have had a swim in a pool in a hotel in Arua.
- I have experiences the most waiting time i've ever had to endure. 3,5 hours waiting in a matatu for it to leave.
- I have played pool in 'Arua's Ungdomshus' (ask finn and giulia). With walls painted black and then sprayed with neon coloured graffiti.
- I have met so many mice around our house, but lukily not so many cockroaches.
