Well for some reason I did not sleep well and woke up at 5:45ish. So i switched on the television and saw "Insomnia" an ironic title at that time of the morning. Well I was supposed to be off to Delhi today, an early start at 8am. I was too absorbed in the film so we left late. For breakfast I did have my ration of toast and colored sugar i.e. jam. I have a strong stomach and a sweet tooth but I can not touch that stuff.
After my exciting breakfast we set off to Jaipur as SP needed to meet a friend.
I felt good this morning, more positive after my crisis with India. Yes i have been conned and I hate that I have to not trust people first and some people will always try rip me off. There are those who are genuine and I have to remember the good meetings rather than the bad. I have come to the conclusion that it is the past and I need to move on and not worry about what has happened. Today is a new day. India is a challenge for me, so I need to rise to it, stop beating myself up about how I have been conned, it happens to everyone why should I be different. Today is a new beginning. Let's hope I manage it better.
We arrived in Jaipur and stopped at the gardens. There we met the friends of SP's friend Maria from Spain. The guy is here working in a tiger sanctuary for three months. His girlfriend was here just for a week. It Es nice speaking Spanish and just chat. The poor guy has found the food a problem so he had brought his chorizo, jamón, etc from Spain. After they are from Albacete, not the most cosmopolitan city in Spain. His three month stint is up so he is looking forward to going home. I don't blame him. After a pleasant conversation we went our separate ways.
The trip back to Delhi was a quiet one and nothing exciting happened. I did have an interesting conversation about how SP was going to arrange a marriage for his daughter. She would meet the bloke and if they got on and the family got on then the marriage would go ahead. It seemed reasonable.
The traffic into Delhi was as always chaos and nothing seemed to move so the drivers beeped their horns. I even saw a car crossing a main road, blocking the oncoming traffic do they could go the other way. Crazy Indian drivers!!
After struggling through the traffic we arrived at my hotel. I said goodbye to SP and said I might call him when i was back in Delhi if I needed a taxi. The hotel looked new and had the feel that it still needed to be finished. However, when you looked closely there were signs of cracked tiles and bath tub was worm, so to maybe old. In the end it was a bed to sleep in and I needed to go to bed early as I needed to get up at 4am as my taxi to the train station was picking me up at 4:30 so I would have plenty of time to catch my train at 5.45. My bedtime seems now to be 10:30pn.
