Woke up early as we needed to leave early to ramtambore. Had a delicious breakfast of toast, jam, at least i think it was,and some coffee. Is this the type of breakfast I can expect.
Checked out of the room ok but had to wait for my driver a short while. There got an introduction to the Indian culture where they are more touchy feely than ism use to. There were two concierges as it were. So there they were joking around with me asking that I give them my sun glasses. Of course the typical questions of do I have girlfriend and then one of them said he could give me "good sex" and made mouth movements simulating a blow job. I was taken by surprise and couldn't really believe it so I just smiled and moved myself to the sofa to wait for my driver. The other guy then followed me to the sofa and kept chatting to me and hugging. For an Englishman this was too much I was glad that I was leaving. I know the second guy was being friendly an Indian, I just need more time to relax and get used to the way of India.
Off we set towards ramtambore and in half an we stopped at Fatehpur Sikri a fort and town created to be the capital by a mogul emperor, however it only lasted his life time and then the capital went back to Agra. It was an impressive fort and mosque, however even with a guide I still felt underwhelmed, the same feeling of it is just a bunch of rocks, terrible but I feel I am being all palaced out. These are the sites that you come to see. Mind you, if I don't appreciate them should I visit the sites? I did by a little candle holder I just felt guilty and was too tired saying no, but I got a good price. Let's see if it survives the journey.
After visiting the palace it turned out that the trip to Ramtambore was a lot longer than I thought about 6 hours in total. Unfortunately my camera batteries had run out so could not take any pictures. In the end I slept and read as the countryside was very dry and pretty featureless. We did go to a restaurant at the side of the road, u should really say eaterie, it was open one side and had a dirt floor the kitchen was open, the seats plastic.SP ordered dal for me and chapatti, it was good and I just hoped my stomach would manage it.
Other than that the trip was uneven refuel and eventually we arrived at my hotel. A better standard than Agra and it had a pool. Having not done any exercise I decided to use the pool. It was cool and refreshing with a nice thin film of dead bugs. The swim was refreshing and i felt better for it.
Chatted with a young couple who were traveling a much bigger circuit than myself, and got a bit if info regarding Pushka. Other than that it was another quiet night but just as well as I needed to be up early for the Tiger safari.
